Your Snapchat Memories live in the cloud, not on your phone — which means a lost account or a glitch can take years of moments with it. Here's how to get them safely into your camera roll, one by one or in bulk, on iPhone and Android.

First: check your auto-save setting (do this now)

Snapchat can automatically mirror every Memory to your camera roll — but only if you turn it on:

  1. Open Snapchat → tap your profile icon → ⚙️ Settings
  2. Scroll to Memories
  3. Under Save Destinations, set Save Button to Memories & Camera Roll

From now on, everything you save lands in both places. But this doesn't fix your existing Memories — for those, keep reading.

Export existing Memories (single or multiple)

  1. Tap the Memories icon (the two overlapping rectangles, left of the camera button)
  2. Press and hold any Snap to enter selection mode
  3. Tap to select as many as you want
  4. Tap Export → Save Video / Save Image (on some versions: Download)

They'll appear in your camera roll / gallery with original quality and — for videos — original audio.

Heads up: large batches export slowly and can silently fail on flaky connections. Do 20–30 at a time rather than selecting hundreds.

The nuclear option: full data export

For a complete archive of everything (Memories, chat history, account data):

  1. Settings → My Data
  2. Select what you want → Submit Request
  3. Snapchat emails you a download link, usually within 24 hours

You get a ZIP with your Memories as standard MP4/JPG files — perfect for a hard-drive backup.

What about videos that aren't yours?

Memories export only works for your own content — it's private by design, with no public links.   • Turn on Memories & Camera Roll today so you never think about this again
